Invite friends to your route and plan the ride together: take turns editing, pin comments to the map and go back to an earlier version.

Plan routes together. Invite friends, take turns editing and talk it through on the map. Beside the headline, a VeloPlanner route page shows Ben editing and comments pinned along the route.

Emma is planning the Kashubian Lakes Loop, a ride from Kartuzy around the lakes with a swim stop in Chmielno. She wants Ben to help with the route and Sofia to see the plan.

Invite friends

Open Share, then Plan together. Add people by username or email, or send an invite link. Choose Can view or Can edit for each person.

Share route window for the Kashubian Lakes Loop, Plan together section: a username or email field with a Can edit role menu, a one-time invite link with a QR code, and the people list: Emma (owner), Ben (can edit) and Sofia (invited)
① Add people by username or email, ② or send a one-time invite link or QR code. ③ Invited people show up straight away, waiting for their reply.

Sofia sees the route before she joins. Invite links work for friends who aren't on VeloPlanner yet, too.

Invitation page reading Emma invited you to view Kashubian Lakes Loop, with the route on a map, a You'll join as a viewer badge, what she will be able to do, and Join route and Decline buttons
① Sofia sees which role she gets. ② One click on Join route and she's in.

Her invitation also waits on her dashboard until she answers it.

Sofia's dashboard with an Invitations card at the top reading Emma invited you to view Kashubian Lakes Loop, with a Viewer tag and a View button
① Invitations also wait at the top of your dashboard.

Who can do what

  • Viewers can see the route, comment and download the GPX.
  • Editors can also change the route and its points of interest.
  • The owner can also manage people and restore earlier versions.

Take turns editing

One person edits at a time, so nobody's changes get lost. Everyone else sees who's editing and gets the new route as soon as it's saved.

Two planner screens side by side: Ben's planner with a green You're editing strip and a Done button, and Emma's read-only view of the Kashubian Lakes Loop with a green bar across the map saying Ben is editing and a Take over button
Ben presses ① Done when he's finished. Emma ② sees who's editing and, as the owner, ③ can take over.

Talk it through on the map

Comment on the route and pin your comment to a spot on the map. Only the people you plan with can see them.

Route page of the Kashubian Lakes Loop with the Comments tab open next to the map, three comment pins in each person's colour along the loop, and the selected pin showing its conversation in a popup
① Pin a comment to a spot on the map. ② Click a pin ③ to read the conversation right there.

Go back to an earlier version

VeloPlanner keeps the last five versions of the route. See what each one changed on the map. The owner can bring any of them back.

Version history panel listing Current route, Ben's changes and Your changes, with Your changes hovered and a Restore this version button, and the older version drawn in violet over the current route on the map
① Hover over an earlier version ② to see what changed on the map.

A colour for everyone

Each person gets their own colour, so you can tell who pinned a comment or made a change.

① Everyone on the route, with their colour and role.

Routes shared with you

They have their own Shared with me tab in your route list.
