Loop routes: start anywhere

Turn your route into a loop with one switch, then start it anywhere along the way. The distance and climbing stay the same.

Loop routes. Close your route with one switch and start it anywhere along the way. The Sella Ronda loop over four Dolomite passes on the VeloPlanner map, with the planner's Loop switch turned on.

Most rides end where they started. To show what's new, we planned the Sella Ronda, the classic loop over four Dolomite passes.

Close the loop with one switch

Plan your route, then turn on Loop. VeloPlanner plans the way back to your start, and a flag marks where you start and finish.

The VeloPlanner planner with the Sella Ronda planned for a road bike: the Loop switch is on next to Reverse route, and a flag marks the start in Corvara on a 51.6 km loop over four passes
① Turn on Loop and the route heads back to the start. ② The flag marks your start and finish.

Start anywhere

Staying in Arabba rather than Corvara? Click the start flag, choose Change start and click the route where you want to begin. Or click a waypoint, or right-click the route, and choose Start here.

The start flag's menu with Remove waypoint, Change start and Add POI. On the map, a hint reads Click the route to set the start, and a green flag follows the mouse along the route to Arabba
① Choose Change start in the flag's menu, ② then click the route ③ where you want to start.

The route itself stays exactly as it was: same distance, same climbing. The climbs just come in a different order.

The same loop now starting in Arabba: still 51.6 km with 1718 m of climbing, and the elevation profile starts with the climb to Passo Campolongo
① Same distance and climbing. ② The loop now starts and ends in Arabba.

Loop or point to point at a glance

Route pages now show whether a route is a loop or goes from point to point, and so do maps embedded on other websites. On the map, one flag marks a loop's start and finish.

The Sella Ronda route page with a Loop tag above the distance and climbing, and a single flag labelled Start and finish in Corvara on the map
① The route page shows the route type. ② One flag for the start and finish.

Available on the website

Loop routes work in the planner on the VeloPlanner website. The mobile app will get them soon.

Plan your next loop.
